This site does not collect, log, or transmit any audio or video data. Microphone and camera streams stay inside your browser. Recordings live in browser memory only — when you close the tab, they're gone.
What runs in your browser
- Tone, sweep, and noise generation via the Web Audio API.
- Microphone and camera capture via getUserMedia (only after you grant permission).
- Real-time analysis of audio (level, frequency spectrum, pitch, decibels).
- Local recording with MediaRecorder, played back from an in-memory blob URL.
What we do not do
- Upload microphone, camera, or any media data to any server.
- Use third-party analytics that profile or track individuals.
- Set advertising or tracking cookies.
- Store recordings server-side. Ever.
Local storage we do use
We store a single value, sl-theme, in localStorage to remember your light/dark theme preference between visits. Clearing site data removes it.
Permissions
Some tools (mic test, decibel meter, pitch detector, webcam test) need browser permission to access your microphone or camera. You can revoke these at any time in your browser's site settings; the tool will simply stop working.
Advertising — Google AdSense
This site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its certified partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, including ads based on your interests across this and other sites.
- Google may use a cookie (typically the
DoubleClickDART cookie or its successor) to show ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. - Third-party vendors and ad networks used by Google may also place cookies.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.
- Visitors in regions covered by GDPR / ePrivacy or similar laws will be shown a consent prompt before personalised ads are served. Declining the prompt restricts processing to non-personalised ads.
- Even when ads are shown, the audio and video tools above continue to run entirely in your browser — ads are served alongside the content but do not get access to your microphone, camera, recordings, or measurements.
For full details on how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Content delivery — Cloudflare
This site is served through Cloudflare, a global content delivery network and security provider. Cloudflare sits between you and our origin servers to speed up page loads, cache static assets, and block malicious traffic. As part of routing your request, Cloudflare temporarily processes the following:
- Your IP address, request URL, user agent, and standard HTTP headers — used for routing, caching, DDoS mitigation, and abuse prevention.
- A
__cf_bmbot-management cookie and, in rare cases, a CAPTCHA challenge cookie. These exist solely to distinguish humans from bots and are not used for tracking or advertising. - Aggregated, anonymous traffic statistics may be retained by Cloudflare for security analysis.
Cloudflare does not receive the contents of your microphone, camera, recordings, or measurements — those never leave your browser in the first place. For their handling of personal data, see cloudflare.com/privacypolicy and their cookie policy.
Third parties
Fonts are loaded locally from this site (no requests to Google Fonts). Ads are served through Google AdSense (see section above). The site is delivered through Cloudflare (see section above). Google and Cloudflare will see your IP address and standard HTTP request data as part of serving their respective resources. No other third parties receive data from this site.
Your rights
- Access / deletion — we don't store any personal data ourselves, so there is nothing to retrieve or delete on our side. Cloudflare's logs follow their published retention; ad-related data follows Google's policies.
- Opt-out of personalised ads — see the Advertising section above.
- Cookies — clear them from your browser's site settings at any time. The only first-party storage we use is
localStoragefor theme preference.
Terms of service
This site is provided "as is" for personal, non-commercial use. The audio and video tools are diagnostic aids only and are not measurement-grade instruments — do not rely on them for medical, legal, or compliance purposes. By using the site you agree not to abuse it (automated scraping, attempts to bypass advertising, attempts to reverse-engineer or republish the tools as your own product). We may update these terms or the privacy policy at any time; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated version.
